We welcome to St. Paul’s family Celestine Helene Elterich and Andreas Gabriel Elterich through Holy Baptism.

Have you ever taken an “Easter quiz?”  In my experience, Easter quizzes tend to be popular in Bible studies throughout the spring.  (“Christmas quizzes,” brethren of the Easter quizzes, seem to crop up in December, largely at church “progressive dinners.”)

You’ll know you’ve stumbled across an Easter quiz when you receive a photocopied sheet with questions on it like:  “Who were the first witnesses of the resurrection?” and “About how long did Jesus lay in the tomb?”  These quizzes can be great fun, as practically every question on them is a “trick” question.

Take the two questions, above.  Gospel accounts differ as to who the first witnesses of the resurrection were.  And if you compute that three days would be about 72 hours in the tomb, you will have guessed way too long a time for the second question.

This morning, I heard an Easter quiz of a different sort.  Well, the beginnings of an Easter quiz, anyway.  During his sermon, Pr. Keating pointed out that Jesus Christ was resurrected into our ordinary, every day world.  That being the case, we should be able to find evidence of the resurrection in our ordinary, every day lives.

So here’s an Easter quiz of a different sort.  No trick questions on this one.  It’s one question, and there are no wrong answers.  And here it is:  “What difference is Christ’s resurrection making in your life?”

Pretty good quiz, isn’t it?
