Healing and Prayer Services
Who?
All who come to the Lord are promised healing and rest. All are welcome. All are invited. All are commended by Christ himself, to come to Him with all our cares. We come for ourselves, and we come for others who we know to be in need of healing or in gratitude for healing that has occurred.
What?
Joint healing services with Hope Lutheran, Faith Lutheran and St. Paul’s have brought a new dimension to our healing ministry.
Where?
Services now rotate among the three churches involved, which are all located within a few short miles of one another. For example, in October (2006) we will meet at Hope Lutheran, in November, at St. Paul’s and in December, at Faith Lutheran.
In addition, we provide further opportunities for healing prayer here at St. Paul’s, by focusing on healing in our Sunday services about once every three months, and providing prayer partners to pray with anyone who comes forward twice a month, during communion.
When?
Our next Sunday morning Healing service will be on January 14th at the 8 o'clock. The joint services take place on the first Wednesday of the month, beginning at 6:30 p.m. (This is a change back to our "old" time. Recently we have met at 7:00.)
Why?
Healing comes in many forms (cure vs. spiritual, emotional, relational, physical, etc.). When we join together in prayer for ourselves or others, we are inviting God to enter into the situation, blessing all those involved with His merciful, healing presence. We come when we are sad, lonely, worried, in need of refreshment, grieved, suffering from any physical, emotional or spiritual ill. But we also come when we are happy, joyful, grateful, healed.
