Instrumental Music

The music ministry at St. Paul’s offers opportunities for adults and children to share their instrumental talents at our worship services.

Handbell Ensemble provides adult with the opportunity to play our Schulmerich handbells and handchimes in preparation of monthly as well as festival ringing.  Rehearsals are on Thursdays starting at 6:30 PM.

Children’s Chimes provides elementary and middle school aged children the opportunity to play our Schulmerich handchimes while learning rudimentary ringing skills. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays starting at 6:45 PM.

The Sounding Brass is an ensemble of trumpets, horns, and trombones that plays for worship, festivals and special occasions. Players are expected to have a high school level of proficiency and the ability to sight read a variety of music from hymn accompaniments to voluntaries and fanfares specific to the season. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays starting at 4:15 PM.

The Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble of woodwinds, strings, brass, percussion and keyboard instrumentalists that assembles as needed to provide accompaniment at festival worship as well as concerts. Instrumentalists are expected to have a high school level of proficiency and the ability to sight read. Rehearsals are scheduled six to eight weeks prior to when the chamber orchestra is expected to play.

Solo and Ensemble Opportunities abound as vocalists and instrumentalists are encouraged to share their God-given talents with the congregation.
