BREWING THEOLOGY

Fun-loving adults, 21 and older, who enjoy informal conversation and lots of laughter are invited to the Midnight Oil Brewing Company, located at 674 Pencader Drive in Newark, on Wednesday, September 27 at 7:00 PM.

OWLs FLY INTO HISTORY

St. Paul’s Older Wiser Lutherans will explore the Delaware History Museum, located at 504 N. Market Street in Wilmington, on Friday, October 13. Discover Delaware and the Journey to Freedom from the 1600s to the present. Carpool from the church at 1:45 PM or meet at the museum entrance at 2:30 PM. Cost: $8 for seniors; $10 for adults. Dinner on your own will follow at Big Fish Grill, located at 720 Justison Street on the Wilmington Riverfront. RSVP to Linda Grund at lgrund923@gmail.com by Sunday, October 8, and please indicate if you can drive. NOTE: This is a change from the originally scheduled trip to the Tilton Mansion.

YOUTHERANS GO TO THE DOGS

Join the Youtherans, the young Lutherans of the Delmarva North Conference, on Sunday, September 24 for a “SPCA Treats” event. Those in Grades 6 – 12 are invited to St. Paul’s kitchen at 5PM to make, bake, and package pet treats for the cats and dogs at the New Castle SPLCA. For more information, contact Pastor Zachary Wright at pastorzach.blcne@gmail.com.

HOLY HIKERS AND WORSHIPFUL WALKERS

Explore the Chestnut Trail on the Judge Morris Estate on Sunday, October 22. Carpool from the church parking lot right after the service, at approximately 11:15 AM and join in covering about 3.5 miles (about 90 minutes) of the White Clay State Park. Parking passes are required; pay kiosks are available as needed. Please bring a light snack and/or beverage as you desire. Hiking poles are suggested because there are some gentle hills and some tree roots along the unpaved but mostly hard pack, single track path.
